From Car Rentals to Fleet Solutions and Financial Services: Yoma Fleet’s Journey in Myanmar

Back in 2014, Yoma Fleet started with a simple idea — provide reliable car rental services to corporate clients in Yangon. At that time, car rental in Myanmar was largely traditional. We operated offline, focused on B2B partnerships, and built trust the old-school way: through consistency and service. 

In 2017, we took a new turn. We launched a daily car rental service, Yoma Car Share, with a small fleet, opening our doors to individuals and smaller businesses. This shift wasn’t just about expanding our customer base — it was about understanding the future. People needed flexible options, and we had the platform to deliver.By 2018, we rolled out our first car rental app offering hourly to daily rentals. This was a major leap – moving us into the digital transformation era. We built systems, trained our teams, and rethought how mobility could work in a changing Myanmar. 

Fast forward to today. Eleven years in, Yoma Fleet now manage the largest fleet in Myanmar –  covering both short-term and long-term car rental and fleet management solutions. Our offerings have grown far beyond cars. We now provide vehicle leasing in Myanmar, along with leasing for heavy equipment and consumer electronics — all powered by data and innovation. 

In 2024, we made another bold move by acquiring a telematics company, further cementing our focus on technology and expanding into IoT services in Myanmar. With 3 mobile apps and 5 active websites, our reach is digital, nationwide, and growing fast. 

But for us, it’s never just about the tools or tech — it’s about impact. We’re piloting new models that combine transport and financial services in Myanmar, aiming to improve how people move, pay, and grow. It’s our mission to help build a better future — a better Myanmar — through smart, sustainable solutions. 

From a small car rental company in Yangon to a full-fledged provider of fleet solutions, leasing, and financial services, Yoma Fleet’s journey has been driven by one thing: constant reinvention. And we’re just getting started.
